Open Northeast Corridor Project
The Open NEC Project is a massive systems overhaul mod for Northeast Corridor content for Train Simulator 20xx, in the style of the flight simulation community's A32NX Project. The objectives are to fix the control bugs, permit every locomotive to run on every route, and create as realistic an experience as possible.
Currently, the project consists of a single enhancement mod for a number of Northeast Corridor locomotives, featuring complete Automatic Train Control (ATC) and Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES) implementations.
Locomotives overhauled by the Open NEC project include:
- Amtrak EMD AEM-7
- Amtrak Acela Express
- Amtrak Bombardier HHP-8
- Amtrak Siemens ACS-64
- Amtrak GE P32AC-DM
- Amtrak GE P42DC
- NJ Transit Comet V Cab Car
- NJ Transit/MARC Bombardier Multilevel Cab Car
- MARC MPI MP36PH
- Metro-North GE P32AC-DM
